Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

I’m wearing a free dress from G Field to celebrate the festive green occasion.  The balloon dress came with green clover earrings and clover-printed fishnet tights (not featured).  To keep things interesting, I wore gold tights instead of the ones provided to introduce a green and gold color theme.

A pop of red on the lips and we’re set to go.

Timeless Treasure Hunt

The Timeless Treasure Hunt started on the 12th, and should you be interested, you have until Sunday, the 20th, to complete it.

The hunt starts here. And the objective of the hunt is to search for a very miniature scroll.

For a full list of the 37 stores involved in the hunt, visit the hunt’s official site.  You will also be able to find landmarks and hints on the site.

There is also an in-world group called The Timeless Treasure Hunt that you can join for help.

Please note that the hunt isn’t exactly easy, as the scrolls are insanely small and well hidden (at least while I was hunting for the items I’m featuring in this entry).

I decided to put together an avante garde look using some of the hunt items. The look isn’t exactly accessible, but fashion isn’t always pretty.

Skin tone adjustment for the free pair of shoes I’m wearing is quite different from other brands, and I’m not quite sure I like it. You have to click the shoes for the skin tone option and a ball rezzes; then you have to edit the ball and manually change the color yourself.

(While opening items you hunted for at Eshi, make sure you click “open,” instead of “buy,” like I did. That simple flub costed me L$200.)

The Zoe Tuli skin from the hunt comes in four tones (Fair, Pale, Sunkissed and Tan), with 4 brow options (brunette, black, bleached and red).

Diamond Is Mine Hunt II

The Diamond Is Mine Hunt II runs from March 14th to April 11th.  The starting point is at Sophistishapes.  Over a hundred stores are participating in the grid-wide hunt.  The objective is to find diamonds (yes, mine those diamonds!). Within each diamond, you’ll find the hunt item(s) and a landmark to the next store.

Visit the official hunt’s blog for landmarks and hints.  The blog also features pictures of all the items.

As always, I’m most interested in skins when hunting, so I plucked out two that really stood out.  Both of these skins have been heavily blogged about, and for good reason.  The Elly skin in Honey tone from Pink Fuel is insanely beautiful. It’s a bit along the cutesy side, but still works on “nontraditional” faces like mine. The multi-color eye-shadow really pops, too. The skin comes with dark, light and red brows, and closed/open mouth. The open mouth is one of the most convincing I’ve seen; it’s not too “rabbity.”

The Al Vulo skin called Jolie (pictured far right above) comes in bronze with cleavage and a little heart plaster on the nose (which is, unfortunately, not removable).

E U P H O R I A Hunt

Euphoria Mall is having their second hunt and only group members can participate. So join the Euphoria group, activate the group tag, and teleport to the sim to look for seablue letter E’s (pictured below):
The hunt ends on the 11th of April.  The 24 Participants range from Fishy Strawberry to Fellini Couture (free hunt items include skins, hair, clothing and poses).  I’m only featuring a handful of the items.

The CheerNo Femme skin comes in a light tone with a blonde hair base and a breast enhancer layer.   The Glance skin, however, only comes with another make-up option (red-lips).

Pray for Japan

The aftermath of the quake and tsunami in Japan is devastating and it’s far from over. You can help out now with a single small purchase of a L$50 red shirt at Aoharu, one of my few favorite stores to frequent.

One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the shirt will go toward the Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami Relief efforts of the American Red Cross.

Many other charity events are taking place, as well, including the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser.

Belleza Group Gift

To celebrate the release of their new Melissa skin, Belleza gifted group members a sample of the skin.  With hair/bald and cleavage options, the skin comes in 7 tones: Fair, Pale, Med, Sunkissed, Tan, Deep Tan and Mocha.

Group fee is L$250, which isn’t bad, as Belleza gifts promotional skins whenever they have a new release.  The gift was available since the 27th of February.  So, if you didn’t get it, you only have (as of March 11) a day or so left to check the group notices for the gift before it disappears.

Fashion For Life

Fashion For Life, a shopping event benefiting the American Cancer Society, will officially open tomorrow, on the 12th.

Hosted on 9 different sims, the event is one of SL’s biggest fashion fairs. Proceeds from all donated items and sponsorships go straight to the American Cancer Society.

-The “Mary” skin featured above is a group gift from Glam Affair (group fee: L$30). Glam Affair sent out the gift in honor of their latest release and Saint Patrick’s Day. The skin comes in five skin tones (light, natural, medtan, tan and dark); the one featured above is natural. Each tone features 3 different brow tones, with or without hairbase.

Back For March

Been gone for quite some time, but I’m back now for regular blog posts. So hi!

I only got to the Skin Fair today (the last day), so I’m not able to give any coverage on that. If you didn’t get to check out the Skin Fair, don’t worry; you can get a full list of all the stores involved and teleport to them individually to get yourself familiar with the skins out there. It’s also the best way to find your personal best.

The German Sl Style blog has a comprehensive coverage of the Skin Fair, as one of its bloggers is an organizer/manager of the fair. You can check that out for pictures. There were free skins from JeSyLiLO, al vulo and YS & YS at the fair, but I wasn’t a huge fan of any of them. There were also a bunch of eyeliner, make-up and lipstick tattoos, which you can check out at the blog. Again, the freebies weren’t anything too grand, so don’t be too livid if you missed out.

In other exciting news, I’ve been contacted fairly recently to collaborate with a new beauty and cosmetic brand. I will be designing shapes for their skins and will also be responsible for styling. I do not know when exactly they’re launching and I’m not yet allowed to preview any of their skins. But when I am, you can be sure that I will be the first to. I’m really stoked, as the skins are insanely beautiful with plenty of make-up options.

In the coming weeks, I will also be reviving and relaunching my own shape line, EmBody. I realize that since my original launch of the line and its absence, another brand established itself with the same name. I’m not too concerned about that, as my line has always been a play on my name (Emily). So to avoid confusion, I’ll probably attach my full name to the brand to include “EmBody by EmilyC Carnell.”

Anywho, that’s just some of my projects in the works. Now for a quick style entry:

The jacket featured is one of the new releases from Aoharu, one of my favorite stores, and can be worn with or without the fur trim. It’s very chic. It comes in several colors; I bought the red, as it was the first thing that popped out at me. The jacket costs L$380.
