Casual Chic

It’s been awhile since my last entry… A long while. A long week. But I’m back. Back with casual chic, of course. At first, I didn’t really know what I wanted to feature, but I knew I wanted to go simple–because, after all, what’s wrong with simple and clean?

Spring is Near

Spring must be near for Americans like myself, right?  

I hope so, because I’m tired of freezing my bootie off.  Even if it’s not near, there’s nothing stopping us from dressing like warm air is around the corner….  at least in Secondlife.

Last night, while I was checking out RunoRuno and their freebies (yes, they have 7/8 very cute freebies!), I found a L$50 dress that reminded me of Spring.  And I know, some may say the dress sort of looks like it’s made out of curtain material, but, even without flashy colors or textures, it’s still lovely.  I mean, for L$50, it’s NOT a bad deal at all.  And with a global economy like the one we have today, shopping smartly might not be a bad idea at all.

I know, I know. I’m not that great of a photographer, but I’m trying. I really am. And to be honest, it takes me longer to do things, especially fashion posts, because I’m always multi-tasking during every project.

But I messed around the other day to find a classic look and liked the one I came up with. Thing was, I got the pictures taken and then cropped, etc. and posted on flickr, but didn’t have time to write up everything for a post on the blog.

But now that I’m not really doing anything, I guess I’ll post it.

Sunday Tops

Yesterday was Valentines. Today is Sunday. And I decided on a somewhat casual look for the day. High fashion, none-the-less.

The beautiful skin I’m wearing is from Mayden. It reminds me of LeLutka skins (Minnu), but has a brighter face. The hair, though, is from LeLutka. And it’s simply fuzzy. LOL.

I went for a very short trendy jacket from COCO; the belts there are lovely, but I didn’t feature them. I found two tops I love and adore; it’s all about the tops today. I didn’t accessorize much because I wanted the fabric of both tops to pop; the first top is actually a bubble dress I bought from Yuli and the other one is a new release from Maitreya (it came with its own cute belt). The sophisticated pair of slacks are from LeLutka; the linings of the slacks are fab. I complemented the outfit with a bag from the Armidi Pink sale, which ended yesterday (sorry if you missed it!). And the simple black pumps are from Juicy.

About the Love

I wanted to showcase a couple of free items: a dress from Modern Gypsy, which is from the Greatest Love Hunt; a couture dress from the Baiastice Update Group; a dress from the Cupcake Hunt; and a dress from the Bolero Collection Update Group (“-<–BOLERO COLLECTION–<–@”).

Running until the February 14th, the Cupcake Hunt has 12 gift boxes, including lingeries and a selection of outfits; I only featured a dress from the hunt.

I’m also featuring wrist bangles from the Armidi Pink Sale, free eyes from Redgrave, hair from the Fascino L$50 hair sale and free skin from Mayden. I’m not sure when the Fascino L$50 hair sale ends, but I would imagine pretty soon. There is also a freebie for men at Mayden. Please note that you will have to join the Mayden Update Group before you can retrieve freebies at their mainstore.

Also, it’s not featured here, but Aden Breyer has marked down her Gen. 3 skins to L$300 each–that means they’re 75% off their original price. She will be retiring these skins to make room for her new skins. Her skins can be found here.

Greatest Love – Great-Wide Hunt

There is another Valentines hunt going on in Secondlife. There are a bunch of them, actually, but this one has come to my attention.

Katlene Niven Agency has organized a hunt called the Greatest Love, a grid-wide hunt with many participating designers, including Callie, Juicy, Haute Styles, Modern Gypsy, House of Zen, etc. The hunt started on February 7th and will run until the 28th. The objective is to hunt for a box with a heart.

Fashionistas and the likes: mark your calendars for FASHION WEEK!!

RUNWAY, a magazine publisher, will be producing its own version of Fashion Week to showcase the spring and summer designs of Secondlife fashion designers.  The week-long fashion production will be the first of its kind in the virtual world.

Armidi Annual Pink Sale!

In what Armidi deems as its biggest sale yet, ALL PINK items sold on ShopArmidi are 50% off their listed price. The sale starts NOW and lasts until February 14.

KISSED – Grid Wide Hunt

Get kissed this February!  Vain Inc. is sponsoring a grid wide hunt called KISSED, a hunt that began yesterday (the 6th) at noon and will last until the 20th.  Over a hundred stores are participating, including Rockberry skins, Baiastice, Alphamale, JE*REPUBLIC, Belleza, Ibizarre, Milk Motion, Ivalde, etc. Each store is giving away a little something something. For example, Rockberry is giving away pack of skins.  The objective is to hunt down a kiss (a lip object) and buy it for L$0.  The kiss includes your gift(s) and a landmark to the next location.  You’ll basically be grid hopping.  This is also a great way to get exposed to various stores.  Do it with your friends, do it alone.
